Here is a checklist of some of the standard services performed on your PC:

Download and install updates for Windows, Antivirus, Antispyware, and Firewall.
Scan your hard drive(s) for viruses, spyware, malware, adware, worms, dialers, hijackers, keyloggers.
Data back up.
Hardware physical inspection and clean up (motherboard, CPU, hard drive, floppy drive, I/O cards, power supply, fans, and vents).
Uninstall unused and unwanted software.
Stop unnecessary programs from booting up with the system.
